Cathy Rioux, CPA, brings more than 20 years of experience in both public and private accounting to the Active360 team. After graduating cum laude from Texas A&M University, she began her professional career as an auditor at Ernst & Young in San Antonio, TX, and later became the Assistant Controller for a small family-owned pharmaceutical company.  Most recently, Cathy has helped several small businesses set up Quickbooks and Quickbooks Online, assisted clients with product costing and pricing, and has become our in-house payroll expert. Professionally, she enjoys helping small businesses succeed by implementing effective and efficient accounting practices that enable owners to focus on running their business. 

Kathy Sonnier, CPA, received her accounting degree from Texas A&M University.  She began her career as a financial and performance auditor for Deloitte & Touche and, later, the Texas State Auditor’s Office. After that, she acted as Controller for her husband’s dental practice and has also worked for Camp Eagle Family of Camps, a Christian non-profit organization. Active 360, LLC is thrilled to have Kathy on the team as she brings a wealth of experience, a big heart, a passion for customer service, and much more to our valued clients. She is also a Quickbooks ProAdvisor. Kathy is a wife and mother to three grown children. When not working, she enjoys tennis, knitting, and empty-nesting!  

With a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Trinity University, a Master of Business Administration, and a Master of Arts in Latin American Studies from the University of Texas, Sharla de Frere brings a valuable perspective to the Active360 team. Her full-time work experience includes serving as Finance Consultant for Dell Computer, serving as an Advanced Financial Analyst for Electronic Data Systems, and as a Senior Credit Analyst for Comerica Bank. She currently serves as the Financial Manager for an Austin patent law firm, as well as provides detail-oriented bookkeeping and accounting assistance to multiple small business clients and nonprofits. She enjoys analyzing and developing efficient processes and procedures to help clients thoroughly understand and grow their businesses.

Christine earned her BSM from Tulane University and MBA from Loyola University. Her controller, accounting and bookkeeping experience spans several industries including DTC, wholesale, legal and utilities. Her experience working in fast paced, growing companies has given her a strong 360-degree perspective and the ability to fully understand the impacts accounting decisions have on all areas of a business. The last 13 years of her career were spent growing Kendra Scott from a $2M revenue wholesaler to a $320M revenue DTC brand as she built an accounting/finance department and then an HR department from the ground up. She enjoys helping others succeed through organized, efficient processes, analytics and strategic decision-making. Christine is a wife, mother of two daughters and enjoys tennis and community service in her free time.

Abby began her career working as a staff accountant doing bookkeeping, payroll, and tax returns for small businesses with James P. Roe, CPA, working full-time while putting herself through college at the University of Texas-Arlington.  Upon graduating from the University of Texas Arlington with a bachelors in business administration accounting, she spent three years at Ernst & Young in DFW and five years at KPMG in Chicago doing individual and corporate tax returns.  She quickly rose from staff accountant to Manager.  Upon the birth of her first child, she retired from her tax work to focus on raising her family.  Over the years, she has kept one foot in the accounting world by doing bookkeeping and tax work for several sole proprietorships.  She is excited to have come full circle and jump back into bookkeeping and client relationships with Active 360.  She is an extrovert who loves helping people be successful in their business by effectively managing the finances of their company.  When she isn’t spending time with her husband, 3 children, or 3 grown foster children, she is volunteering at her church, going to her weekly bootcamp classes, or spending time with friends.
